Packing Slip

A critical logistics document listing item names, SKUs, and quantities to ensure accurate product tracking and verification during the studio intake process.

A packing slip is a comprehensive inventory document that accompanies products shipped to a studio for production. It serves as the primary record for tracking and verifying physical assets from the moment they arrive at one of our global intake hubs in Singapore, the United States, or China until they are returned or archived.

For e-commerce brands, a detailed packing slip is the backbone of efficient logistics. In high-volume environments like a Scheduled Lookbook® or a Catalog photography session, the packing slip allows our production teams to cross-reference physical items against the digital shot list. This ensures that every SKU is accounted for, prepared correctly, and staged for the right creative setup, whether it’s a high-end Mini-campaign or a standard Creative photography project.

Why It Matters

The packing slip acts as the 'source of truth' for your physical inventory. Without it, the risk of SKU mix-ups, missing samples, or incorrect colorway assignments increases—especially in complex global shipments. It ensures operational transparency and protects a brand's assets throughout the production lifecycle.

Examples

A footwear brand shipping 100+ samples to our Singapore hub for a Catalog shoot, listing each style, size, and SKU. An apparel brand sending a Mini-campaign collection to our USA hub with specific notes on which items belong to which 'look' as per the packing slip sequence.

How to Apply

Ensure every packing slip includes the Item Name, SKU, Color/Variant, Quantity, and any special handling instructions (e.g., 'Fragile' or 'Do Not Steam'). Place one copy inside the shipment and secure a second copy to the exterior of the lead carton.

Common Mistakes

Vague item descriptions (e.g., 'Blue Shirt' instead of a unique SKU); discrepancies between the slip and the actual box contents; and handwritten slips that are difficult for intake teams to read and digitize.

Pro Tip

For seamless global intake, include a digital version of your packing slip in your project portal before shipping. This allows our team in Singapore, the USA, or China to pre-label your assets, significantly reducing the 'dock-to-set' time.
