Talent Usage Rights
Talent usage rights define the agreed scope for using a model's likeness across various media channels and timeframes.
Talent usage rights refer to the specific legal permissions granted by a model or performer regarding how, where, and for how long their likeness (image, voice, or video) can be used for commercial purposes. In the context of JU Productions, these rights are distinct from the photographer's copyright and are negotiated to align with a brand's distribution strategy, whether for a high-volume Catalog shoot, a high-impact Mini-campaign, or our Scheduled Lookbook® service.
As brands ship products to our global hubs in Singapore, the USA, and China, defining usage rights becomes a strategic necessity. These rights dictate the media channels (e.g., social media, e-commerce marketplaces like Amazon, or OOH print), the geographical territory (local vs. global), and the duration of use (e.g., 12 months vs. in perpetuity). At JU Productions, we ensure that talent usage is transparently documented to support seamless global scaling for retail brands.
