Pull Sheet

The master blueprint for on-set styling, detailing every ensemble and accessory to ensure production efficiency and brand consistency across global shoots.

A pull sheet is a definitive document that catalogues every pre-selected ensemble, accessory, and fashion combination curated for a professional photoshoot. In the high-stakes environment of e-commerce production, it serves as the master blueprint that ensures styling consistency and operational efficiency.

For brands utilizing JU Productions' global services—such as our Catalog photography, Creative photography, or Scheduled Lookbook®—the pull sheet is the bridge between the creative vision and on-set execution. When products arrive at our global intake hubs in Singapore, the United States, or China, our styling teams use the pull sheet to verify inventory and prepare outfits according to the approved creative brief. This meticulous organization is what allows us to deliver high-end, scalable content without sacrificing the nuanced details of a brand’s visual identity.

Why It Matters

A pull sheet is critical for maintaining a cohesive brand identity, especially across high-volume shoots or multi-location productions. It prevents 'creative drift' by ensuring that every look is executed exactly as planned. Operationally, it minimizes downtime on-set; when a model finishes one look, the next ensemble is already staged and verified, maximizing the output of your production budget.

Examples

In a Mini-campaign for a footwear brand, a pull sheet would list each shoe SKU alongside specific socks, trousers, and props required for each shot. For a Scheduled Lookbook®, it might detail 20+ complete head-to-toe looks, organized by 'Shot Order' to match the flow of the lighting setups.

How to Apply

1. Categorize products by look number or SKU. 2. List all secondary items (jewelry, belts, shoes) to be paired with the primary product. 3. Include 'Styling Notes' (e.g., 'tuck in shirt,' 'cuff the denim'). 4. Align the pull sheet with the Call Sheet to ensure the wardrobe is ready ahead of the model's call time.

Common Mistakes

The most common error is failing to account for 'backup' accessories, which can stall a shoot if a primary item doesn't fit. Another mistake is neglecting to update the pull sheet when items are added or removed during the global shipping process to our hubs, leading to confusion on-set.

Pro Tip

Include high-resolution thumbnail images of 'flat-lay' references and specific SKU numbers on your pull sheet. This eliminates ambiguity for the styling assistants and ensures that the 'Hero' product is always paired with the correct accessories as intended in the creative strategy.
